Role-Play Scripting Sheet

Use this sheet to write a script for the characters in your group. Think about how the play will start and end. Here are some questions to discuss with your group to help write the script.

• Why are the characters together in the air raid shelter?
• What are their backgrounds?
• What do you think each character thinks about:
  • How their lives have changed as a result of the war
  • Whether they think this is a good thing
  • Volunteering to help others
  • Taking responsibility for other people?
• What does each character think about the Second World War? Why was it being fought?
• Do the characters all agree with each other? Would they argue about the war and the reasons they have changed roles?

Then think about how the play might end.

• What conclusions might the characters reach?
• What questions could they ask the audience to think about?

Remember. Each character should make a wish for the future.
